We've been praying for baby Stellan for months now-

Pray for Pam's Husband- Lung Rejection

Hi
It's me...my husband is in rejection of his right lung that was transplanted 3 years ago. We are home now, and in 4 weeks, if he stays well, we will return to the hospital (over 4 hours away) and he will have another biopsy in each lung to see if they were able to stop the rejection. The rejection is actually the body doing what God created it to do. The kill off his immune system so the body "can't see" the new lung as well.

I have a prayer request. My friend Brenda just called me very upset. Her son Ryan who is a youth pastor went to see his Dr. today because he had a swollen gland near his collar bone which was very sore. Last week he had one on the other side of his collar bone, but over the weekend it went away and this one appreared. Today the Dr. took blood and the results are to be back tomorrow. (The Dr. put a rush on them) She has also scheduled an apt. tomorrow (Tuesday) for a CT scan. She told Ryan they are running these tests to check for Lymphoma first. She wouldn't put him on any antibotics at this time due to the tests she is doing. Would you please put him on your prayer list along with his wife Elanea and his mother Brenda?

Pastor Rusty and Dorinda's Daughter and SIL: Moved to Washington DC a couple of months ago following God's calling in a different direction in their lives...they were pastoring a church in Huntsville, AR x 8 years. They lived in the inner city (close to church where Brad is training) and Glenda was homeschooling Macy (kindergarten). Macy is a very social child and therefore, missed having friends (not many children where they were living) and classmates. She needed to be in a school setting. They moved again... after much prayer...they moved to outside the city and were able to put Macy in a Christian school (God blessed them...no tuition) and the church that Brad is working/training under is planting a church in this area . Macy has flourished, love their new rent house. The problem is...they had to move out of their rent house in DC while under a lease. They are currently responsible for paying rent on two houses in DC plus a mortgage payment because the tenants in their house in Huntsville...moved out. They are on a one year work study program WITHOUT PAY for one year. They raised money and got some sponsors to help with living expenses, sold much of what they owned and trusting God to provide the rest...that didn't include a mortgage payment and extra rent on the 1st house. This money is coming from their money saved to be used throughout this year's living expenses in DC.

First of all- Brad and Glenda really need prayer. They are trying so hard to trust God. They moved because the landlord told them the house would be rented in a week. No problem. Don’t worry about it. Well, here it is almost a month later and $2200. Later.


Jennifer says:
Dorinda's sister...Tami...her husband had cancer of the tongue with surgical removal of the mass and part of his tongue back in August. The cancer is back in his tongue but a faster, more evasive kind this time. Ronnie and Tami have a younger daughter, Kaylee who is only 9-10 plus Tami has a daughter who is married and having her 1st child this week also.

Dorinda's words:
Secondly – my sister and her family.

Ronnie’s cancer is back with a vengeance. The doc said it is the kind that wants to grow and move.. They are doing a rush surgery – massive stuff- on Friday to remove tumor, remove lots of teeth – put in ports for chemo and feeding tube in stomach. Then he will also start radiation asap.

For Tammie- her daughter is being induced on Thursday. Tammie is just beside herself. She wants so bad to be with Deanna when she goes home etc. But Ronnie will need her also. I know it will all work out and she does too – but she just hates to miss this time with Deanna. Something you can never make up….

Please pray for God's peace, guidance and wisdom in these situations concerning my family.

What a great answer to prayer!

I wanted to also thank you for praying for my surgery. I had it on Friday and the dr had to take 4 tumors out instead of the one that we expected. But the dr is very optimistic that she got all of it. Still waiting on biopsies to come back but Gods peace tells me He is in control! Thank your readers for praying.

Also the financial burden of this surgery was supplied in a mighty and great way by God. We serve a GREAT BIG God!

Hi there!Okay, here is my request:There's a little guy in my elementary program at church, he is 10-yr old Zach.
He was diagnosed (for the THIRD TIME) last week with cancer.He is undergoing surgery today to remove his thyroid & some lymphnodes.Please pray that this takes care of it. That he'll need no further treatment. His last two bouts w/ cancer involved several months of chemo + radiation (which they believe caused this cancer); and it was NO fun to see him go through that.Thank you for interceding on his behalf, I know his momma would thank you!

Hi there, Sure, although the surgery went well, he could use some continued prayer.His thyroid was completely removed today & his lymphnodes were "cleaned" (taken out, had bad cells removed, & returned). One week from today, he will have an iodine treatment. Then a scan & they'll go from there.He's went through a lot. As has his poor mom.

I have a prayer request. My stepmom Linda is going in tomorrow morning at 8am pacific time to have a catheter inserted in her groin, up to her heart. Once there, they will insert die into her heart to show them any areas that may need care. Please keep Linda in your prayers. I will be at the hospital tomorrow, keeping my dad company while she is having this procedure.

Thank you so much for praying with us for Toby, for "coming alongside". He has been diagnosed with an advanced case of MS. He is numb from his neck down and has many symptoms-yet, he can walk, he has to keep his eyes on his feet because he does not know where they are and yet they spoke of coming blindness toosio...a mother's heart breaks.

I cannot tell you what it means to know that you join us in our prayers for him. Pray too that he returns with his little family to church in his town. (There were hard times in our church when he was younger and many of the children just walked away after seeing so many adults in sin.)
God so many times uses our health or lack of it to get our eyes on Him.

Please, please pray for Brandon...he is so far out of God's will right now. I haven't heard from him in weeks, don't have any way of contacting him and not sure what state he is living in right now. He is running as fast and as hard as he can from God. He is so deceived and he doesn't even realize it.

I am overcome right now with emotions and fear...I can't stop the flow of tears. I pray daily that God would protect him, sustain his life until he returns to Him but beyond that...break him, Lord. It is the hardest prayer for me as a mother to pray for her son but I would rather him suffer on this earth and spend eternity with his Heavenly Father and me.

All I can do is pray...please pray with me. As a mother...my heart is breaking.

I just received a phone call from Jennifer to start a prayer chain. Gunner, a 26 year old friend of Jim, was in a car wreck. He is on a med flight with serious injuries. The paramedics did not give the family much hope. (I do not know about the condition of his soul, so we need to first of all pray that his relationship with Christ is healed.)

Life Threatening Injuries

Life is so fragile my friends. One minute we are enjoying the beautiful life God has given to us, the next- we are in a state of unknowns. We hear of critical illnesses, friends who have passed on, accidents that have happened. Today my thoughts are surrounded in thinking of Barbara- my sister in law's mother. Barbara is in her early 60s and in better shape than most 20 year olds. She has won numerous triathlons (known best because of her status as a twin), she has traveled the world, participated in adventures that most would never even attempt, climbed the worlds highest mountains, gone where others would only dream to go, an accomplished writer, a PhD, a life coach and inspirational speaker- BUT today, she lays in the great unknown. Today, she is surrounded by tubes, confused when she awakens, wondering if what surrounds her is merely a dream. Ladies, please continue to pray for Barbara. The doctors have placed screws in her neck and are slowly taking her out of her medicated state in order to assess the depth of her injuries. She is in a critical stage, but we believe in a God of miracles. A God who defies death, who parts huge seas, a God who moves mountains. Please pray with me for a complete and total healing miracle. One in which, one day- Barbara will be able to proclaim: The God of miracles healed me! To read more on Barbara, please see my post from yesterday. Her family relishes every prayer and word of encouragement they have received. She is also away from home, so her family has traveled to spend the next few days and weeks with her. Extremely Urgent Request

This request is from Christelle:I have an extremely urgent request and want to ask all the prayer warriors out there to not only pray, but ask your circles to pray as well.
My brother is asking for prayer for his mother in law, Barbara Warren. Barbara was in a serious bike accident this morning. The known facts are that she has broken her virtabrae and bruised her spine. Her heart has stopped several times and they have put in a pace maker. I have a prayer request today for my sister-in-law. Her name is Margaret Raker. She is having her thyroid removed today at around 1 pm. She has a limp on the thyroid. I believe they found no cancer. Urgent request from Jennifer: I would like you guys to pray for my co-worker, Carleen's sister...Carol in Texas. She had a total knee replacement just over a week ago but was rushed back to the hospital yesterday with blood clots in her lungs. Carleen is flying out there tomorrow night to be with her. Please pray that they can desolve these clots for Carol and for traveling mercies for Carleen.

I'm including some recent requests that I received while away on vaction. I would like to ask you to pray for me as well. My husband and I recently applied for Life insurance and my test results came back fairly high for Kidney Disease. I had excessive Red Blood Cells and White Blood Cells in my urine as well as a very high protein count. Please pray that this will be easily fixed and not be any sort of kidney disease. I'm not able to visit the doctor until September 1st, when my insurance becomes effective. Trust with me that the Lord will do a miracle and this will be nothing!

I only have 6 weeks left in this pregnancy and I’ve been having a very rough time, and now we have to be out of this house by next Thursday and hubby is at work all day, so we are busting our tails trying to get packed by then. We can’t afford a moving truck either so gas is going to be horrendous on the pick up trucks we are using, lots of trips back and forth. We just desperately need the grace of God this week and next, for grace and wisdom on how to move all our stuff with limited help since I can’t do much. My sister Janice has taken quite a fall today while visiting my Mother back in New York. She fell down 13 stairs, has a broken wrist and will need surgery when the swelling goes down, she has contusions on her head and face that are very painful. She can't remember the fall, so has some short term memory loss. The CT didn't show anything wrong, she's in a lot of pain and was told the next few days would be the worse.

(her husband)Jordan: Please pray with me for Jordan's safety along with all the other firefighters and fire victims in the Canyon Complex fire in Plumas County. Jordan left a few days ago to work as a fireline medic for two weeks. He hikes around the hills from 6 am to 10 pm daily to treat injured firefighters and sleeps in a tent. (To me this sounds more exhausting than the Santa Cruz fire where he worked 24 hrs on fire duty and 24 hrs mandatory rest at base camp.) Jordan has amazing endurance and strength and I pray God will bless others through those gifts.

(her son)J.T.: As some of you know, J.T.'s cardiologist recently discovered leakage of blood in 2 spots near the new connection in his heart. Kaiser's equipment is limited in that they cannot see where it is coming from or why. The Kaiser team conferenced with the UCSF head cardiologist & he determined that we should watch & wait. If the leaking becomes a bigger issue in the future, there are non-surgery options, like inserting a titanium coil up through his groin to the heart. We are trusting that J.T. is in God's hands and that every day is a GIFT.

Hey friends:I am writing this email asking you to remember my mom in your prayers. Most of you know that she has major heart problems- congestive heart failure. She went to the doctor today because of fluid build up in her legs, feet and abdomen. They are hospitalizing her as I write with the hopes of draining fluid off. Her heart is now twice the size it should be. Her heart is already in a weakened condition and cannot handle much more stress on it.
I ask that you remember her and my dad in your prayers. I want a miracle. I am believing and hoping for that complete healing from my Jehovah Rapha - the Lord our Healer! Thanks for remembering us!love you all!

Please pray for my neice Krystal who will be undergoing surgery next week. They found two cysts on her ovaries, one which is very big. According to her bloodwork there is an 85% chance it is cancer. She is young single mom of a little girl and I know she is scared, and so is her mom who is my sister. Update on Mary Beth's brother

From Mary Beth (The Back Forty):
Here is an update on my brother, Ken.

Last week his tests showed great improvement. However they told him his platelet count should be at 200,000... not 80,000.

It had improved to 50,000 last week. So they were encouraged.

THEN last Friday he had a blod clot pass through his eyes and he lost his vision for a minute or two. SO the dilemma... his blood is too thin... but then when they thicken it he gets clots.

Yesterday...

Went to the doctor and his platelet count was back down to 26,000. So now they are putting him on an IV for 5 hours / day for 5-7 days to try and get his platelet count up enough to do surgery and remove his spleen.

They said his spleen is what is eating his platelets but if they did surgery now, he would bleed to death.

So... please continue praying for him. We are believing this will be the answer... and believing somehow that when this spleen is removed it will totally cure his disease.

It is a blood clotting disorder. At 37 he started having mini stokes and has been on cumadin for 10 years and doing great on that.

Yesterday he went in for a check up. He hasn't been feeling well.. his wife, Phyllis told me his pores had been seeping blood... he had been bruising easliy... etc.

The doctor couldn't believe what she saw. His platelets were only at 3000. They should be over 50,000.

His body is eating up his platelets... so NOW he has NO CLOTTING in his blood.

The doctor was amazed he wasn't dead... or bleeding profusely internally... especially after he PUSHED A CAR up the hill on Sunday night. She couldn't believe he was still ok.

After she swore over his blood test results...she said, "Ken, I want you to know you must have angels surrounding you. You should be dead or close to it."

They have him on MEGA DOSES or prednizone... 80 mgs. They say this treatment is usually successful to help regenerate his platelete count.

I am asking all of you to please lift him up in the next few days as they are crucial.

Pray for his healing and his spiritual strength to be renewed and to rely totally on the LORD.

Pray for Phyllis that she will keep walking in FAITH and be able to keep him down. Ken is not supposed to move at all... except to go to the bathroom,etc. It is very critical that he stays still.

His girls, Natasha and Alicia...

And for my Mom and Dad... who as parents are of course worried, fearful... but praying and trusting the LORD.

I was able to spend some time with them on Tuesday and in the midst of this sad time, the family is still laughing and joking and it is clear that they are closer than ever. However, it doesn't take away from the grief that is palbable. I know that Dennis really wants to be able to go home and spend his last days there, but it sounds like the Dr's don't think that will happen. I am going to continue to pray that perhaps it will. If you know the family...send them a card at the address below. I am sure that Tom and Nate appreciate our expressions of love and support through text or myspace/facebook.

Christelle... Prayer for Parents who are very very concern about the safety of their young daugher Shelly. Their daughter is away fom home working and going to school . Shelly is afraid for her saftey due to some people living in her apartment complex bothering her and causing her so much stress that she is not able to go to her apartment in peace. These people might be on drugs and she has called the Police but they can only do so much. These parents feel so helpless because they cannot be of any financial help to their daughter to help her get out of apartment due to their disabilities. her daughter cannot just move out also because there is no family or close friends that are up there for her. Please pray for them as they try to figure out how they can come up with finances to help her, also that the Lord will lead them to someone near their daughter to assist her in anyway. bit most of all that she will be safe from any hurt, harm or danger. Delorese Baker - Aunt - Home and doing better. She had an abscess in her incision that was full of infection. They had to reopen her incision, clean it and left it open to heal on it's own. She is at home recovering. The blood clot seems to be under control as well.
Honey Bond: PRAISE!!!- Doing great and can be removed from the prayer list.
Keaton Lee - 14 year old still battling cancer but he is at home in Little Rock and making bi-monthly trips to Houston to MD Anderson for treatments. Pray that they can get him into remission and he can enjoy a "normal summer" with his family.
Melba Schochler - Finally home from the nursing home and doing much better. Pray for her husband and family who are helping care for her around the clock...they need strength, rest and peace.
Brandon Coats - Surgery was successful and the kidney stone was surgically removed on Tuesday. He went home yesterday...sore but in good spirits. Please continue to pray for his deliverance.
Kelley Moore - After seeing the heart surgeon yesterday, he wants to take a less aggressive approach to her treatment. She is on two medications and exercise to see if that reduces her shortness of breath. She will have a heart catheterization this summer but unless that shows that her valve has worsened...he told her that she would have to have it replaced within the next 10 YEARS rather than immediately. PTL!!! The doctor took the urgency out of the entire situation, besides...God is the one in control and can still heal that valve.

Several weeks ago I wrote about a young girl who had a massive heart attack. She was later released from the hospital, however, this is the update I just received:

She had another heart attack a few weeks ago. She is surving with only 1/2 of an arter (instead of 4). She is basically hospitalized until she gets a heart transplant.

*Honey: Released from the hospital on Tuesday before her grandson's graduation. She was able to attend his graduation ceremony on Friday. The doctors still do not know the cause of her infection or symptoms but are treating the symptoms with medicine. Please continue to pray for a full recovery.
*Keaton: Is at home but has to travel to Houston, TX every 2 weeks for treatments. They were extremely grateful to our boys (Brothers of JDC & DCA) who raised money for them which made it possible to continue their travels to Texas. Jennifer, one of our prayer warriors sent the following requests and praises:
*Please pray for my aunt, Delorese Baker. She had emergency a couple weeks ago, went home and was doing well. However, she found a knot in her leg which turned out to be a blood clot. Her doctor did not want her to travel 45 miles to Memphis, TN due to the danger of it dislodging. He sent her to her small local hospital where she is being given blood thinner and Heparin. Please pray that this clot dissolves quickly.
*Pray for 1 month old twins who live in Mississippi but my mother knows their grandmother.Charles Bryant & Lucy Johnson...twins names...born premature, have sleep apnea and little boy had to have a trach done because the holes in which he breathes through in his nose were not open due to premature birth and otherwise he would die as a result of not being able to breathe. Doctor said infants breathe through their nose not their mouth...I never knew that. He has to have 24 hour care as the trach gets clogged, has to be removed, cleaned and re-inserted. When the tube is removed...he technically stops breathing and has to be resuscitated. Parents are under a great deal of stress, worry and trying to be in 2 places at once. I think that both babies are now at home...can't imagine the amount of stress and pressure these parents are under. However, the praise report is that the holes are beginning to open but they estimate that he will have the trach for 1 year.
*Honey: She is still in the hospital but no longer in ICU. However, the doctors still have no idea what is wrong with her. She has been there for 2 weeks now. She said they know a lot things that ARE NOT wrong with her but still don't know the cause of her problems. Please pray that they figure it out soon...she wants to be out of the hospital as her grandson that she has raised graduates from high school on Friday and she wants desperately to be there.
*I don't have any news on Keaton Lee...13 year old boy with cancer. His last update on Caringbridge.org was 4/13/08. Keep him in your prayers as well as his family.
*Kelley: She had her scope done on Friday but the doctor still has not given her a definite diagnosis yet. She is to see him again on Wednesday for her follow-up and to see if he is still sending her to the heart surgeon. He did tell her that she had moderate mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation. She has searched the Internet for answers but all she could find was things on mild and severe...nothing on moderate. She needs peace of mind and a definite answer as to what they next course of action will be.
*Melba No current updates on her condition but continue to pray for her and her family.
*Brandon Praise Report...he body is healing really well and abdominal incision is almost completely healed. He has a doctors appointment today, so I will followup later on his prognosis further. Please pray for God's annointing over his life.
